   Liz, That’s your best goddam painting yet. Blood Meridian was the first thing I thought of when I saw the painting. Aren’t you glad I loaned the book to you so you wouldn’t be able to sleep at night?
   Texas was the place you went to measure up back in those days. I think the military is the only option left in our era. Think of that kid from Into the Wild. I suppose that’s what he was trying to do. Prove he was a self-sufficient man, and he didn’t make it. At least someone knew about it. I wonder how many people in the day wound up as food for the coyotes and no one ever knew what happened to them? Those people in the mall…I remember them. I’m sure I heard the Deliverance theme faintly playing in the background.
   Well, back to homework. Steve
