ANGELS IN THE GARDEN
Aren’t children just beautiful??? The girls would go to the garden to cut flowers and I would sit with my Bloody Mary that their mother fixed for me. Then they would gift me with beautiful flowers…

This young man was quite entertaining and quite good at making up games to play such as lets bury the football in the garden and see who finds it first!

this is one of my favorite photographs because of the focus and the flash…

I thought this must be what it is like to be a guru…my drink and many offerings!!!

And look my first disciple!!!

His devotion is measured by my willingness to pet him!!!

I wish this had been in focul!

It truly was a blessing!!!
FAMILY OF ANGELS
This is my friend Wendy (we went to school from kindergarten to graduation) and her 3 angels…who were so kind to provide me with good food, good laughs and a pretty princess bed!!

ART MUSEUM IN HELENA, MONTANA

This was a good concept! Here is the poem it dispensed to me
CHAOS FOLDED IN HALF AND TUCKED INTO THE FIFTH POCKET
One trepid step
Dipping a foot
Slowly into the bath
The water, hot, stingingly hot
So hot I get chills when I finally submerge
Sinking below the vast field of bubbles.
It is quiet.
But it is not completely quiet.
Water slurps at the drain.
Bubbles sizzle
And I cut them with the side of my palm-slice, slice
Smoothing the layers
Soothing myself.
Rituals keep us sane
A sensation of ending and beginning
Dividing our days into small sections
Sections that make order.
Order creating the illusion of order.

FALL COLORS 3
Still on the trail along Little Butte Creek

I love the lava flows…this is on highway 140 to KIamath Falls

And a ranch near a place called Odessa which pretty much just contains a general store and a lodge! Beautiful aspen groves along 140

And this mountain side is across from Klamath Lake

I have been meaning to stop along the road to see what this was and I finally did a fatal accident marker? that someone put a lot of work into…the road was widened in places and it was thrown aside or maybe the road workers were annoyed that it had been put up with concrete…

out of focus but I thought I would put this in anyway it is the head of the bear that was attached to the marker… the body of the stuffed bear lies not far away.

and the sun sets.

WHITEHALL, MONTANA
Whitehall is a little town about 17 miles from Butte. It is considered the “banana belt” it is supposedly much warmer there. On this day the temperature had dropped from the high 70′s to the low 30′s but the walk warmed me up

As I said Whitehall is a town that is quite small and with a one sided main street, the other side has the train tracks…

The poor petunias where huddled together from the cold

The train tracks

This is a very cute quilt store with a nice selection of fabrics for such a small town. I loved it and stayed awhile trying to pick out some fabrics. I try to buy most of my fabrics from the little independent store owners but sometimes resort to shopping at Jo-Anns.

And this little coffee shop was a God send! Its not really a gallery or gift shop but the man who owns it frames pictures and has an espresso bar with some comfortable chairs…and a wood stove that was burning!!

Well I’m not a poker player or a loose woman but they should still beware….

FOR SHEL….
See that dust so deep you can grow avocado seeds!!! I actually dusted the whole room after taking the photo!!

FALL COLORS
Most of these were taken at Little Butte Creek…took film into Costco….haven’t scanned the Montana photos yet…I need a whole day just to scan!!!
these first photos were taken along 140 to Klamath Falls

VIRGINIA CITY, MONTANA II
OOOH I love gypsies!!!

large hole in roof

I almost deleted this mural I thought it was too dark…then I thought it represented the shadow across American Indians.

more windows…

I love these worn wood and rusted metal photos!!

I think it guards my soul…

I love the character of old houses!

VIRGINIA CITY, MONTANA
Virginia City is a tourist ghost town that was for the most part shut down as the tourist season was over…there were tourists but its probably really crowded in the summer. I got there fairly early by the time I left there were a lot more people. I didn’t see the whole town basically the main street…more to explore when I go back!!
Now this is character!!

Bad luck wishing??

BALE OF HAY??? saloon for horses???

You can see my reflection in this one!! These old stores are decorated inside with the appropriate goods…in the summer the doors are unlocked and you can step into a roped off area to take photos….I sort of like the haunting reflections in the photos…more appropriate for a ghost town!!

Outhouse??

Even the ceilings outside are decorated.

the cobbler

the only people actually open!

I love these old facades…had me fooled and disappointed when I was a youngster! I’m sure there was a lesson somewhere in it!

Who do they think they are?? rising above their station!!!

Good luck window!!

groceries

More later!!!
IF MONICA COULD EXPRESS HER RAGE AND HURT IN ART (REVISED)
UPDATE: I found the picture of the teepee hanging from the ceiling hard to imagine it with the closeups I took…but would not have the effect without the closeups either…of course it would be better if you could see it in person!!)
She would be celebrated in museums and galleries…white people would flock to witness and then purchase her emotions…they would eat canapes and little petit fours while sipping wine and making witty comments….
This is Rez Art in the art museum in Helena, Montana….not a single bit of it was happy and joyous….

Ouch!!! this one was particularly moving to me….all about the land that once belonged to the American Indians…I will never view a real estate guide through the same eyes again.

Manny tribal lands were represented on these maps….I wish I had taken more photos! The creativeness is amazing!

I must have forgotten to take an overview of this work of art it was a plastic teepee hanging from the ceiling. The artist had done charcoal sketches put them between clear plastic and sewn it into a teepee.

THE LAST OF DIGITAL BUTTE!
Wow I got 12 hours of sleep last night and it felt good!!! Luckily I took all of those digital photos or there would be nothing on my blog as it is I have just been throwing posts up…not really saying anything. Don’t know when I will get the photos scanned. I really need to get my quilt pieced together….I hope I have batting…haven’t looked. OMG I have so many things on my to do list!!!
See? Even the street signs send messages to me!!

I love old houses!!!

I may have put this up already but I love this…its the side of an old church.

And a door to a theater that probably used to be a church! Hmm sort of the same thing?

Having a mind in the gutter I couldn’t pass up taking a picture of this building!

And this cracked me up I guess this is called the Terminal Food Center because it only sells cigarettes…junk food…??? And meat? It was a strange store…not a deli but like a destitute 7-11 with a meat counter…no deli stuff or gourmet items.

THE CONTINUING SAGA OF BUTTE
More photos of Butte…..
one of many historic buildings

There is a big copper mine (another post… later) in Butte and I guess this building (seniors center) is a tribute since it pretends to be copper!

How cool is this screen?

No city can be complete without a Masonic Temple…

Masonic temples were not put on this earth for me to understand…I don’t think I ever will….Maybe Tiffany will read this and tell me if there are Masonic temples in Australia and Spain or is the United States the only country afflicted with this silent epidemic. I detest organizations that keep secrets! Have secrets ever done anything but cause trauma and repression?

My nephew’s name is Gus!

Houses in historical Butte

This is a lamp post? in front of a theatre

I hope they don’t just perform sad orphan stories….

mining decorations on light posts!

while Butte doesn’t look so great in this photo I took it because of the mountains. They are beautiful and surround much of the city. There is a giant statue on these mountains called The Lady of the Rockies and it glows at night. You can take a bus to visit it but I hear it is a long scary road…I was told it takes several hours so I postponed the trip until I moved there.

I did not take this photo…

Check out their website OURLADYOF THE ROCKIES. She blesses all women regardless of religion.
AND THE WINNER IS…
My favorite!!

This brick brings me such joy and laughter!! It doesn’t matter how many times I see it I still laugh! Not only is this brick painted red but then someone took the time to paint the black lines so they would look like what they already are….sort of like plastic surgery for bricks…oooh I need a facelift!!
BRICKS AND SIDING
More beautiful bricks!!! (and a bit of siding)

green is good

This was from a church I don’t recall ever seeing a cross with the decoration at the bottom….meaning???

Love the steel pipes on the brick!!!

See some of the brick is so precious they build fences around it!

BUTTE ALLEYS AND A FEW ADS
Art by nail gun on a lightpole in an alley I wonder if someone added the whiskers later?? Must be a pole cat!!

Not sure what the purpose of putting that lock there….so people like me would wonder??

I wonder what what was graded how many boxes could be stacked up?? I love stuff like this! It could just be a balcony with a door but this is far more interesting.

Just in case…
