SEX, DEATH AND CHOCOLATE

Funny how I equate certain foods to sex and death….makes me think my views of death are in line with the universe…oysters, garlic, chocolate, ginger, certain hot things…orgasmic and wanting to die!! Death not to be confused with suicide THAT is fucked up…but death as a return to ALL that IS…a celebration of life and death!! Of course it could be about the death of ego…although in my case maybe its the ego that finds these tastes so sensual…
This is what I bought for dessert on Thanksgiving…I have had my eye on it for awhile but it is a bit pricey for such a small container….but not so pricey I couldn’t buy it for a special occasion. It is absolutely wonderful not too sweet and they were not afraid to use the chili pepper so those of you who don’t like hot cut it in half with a plain chocolate. But I like bold! Took me by surprise so many of the chocolate companies cater to the bland. Bland I am not!!
While searching for an image because I was too lazy to take my own photo I came across someone who made pudding….yes PUDDING the old fashioned way! OMG HOT CHOCOLATE WITH CHILIES PUDDING!!!!….I can hardly wait. I think I need to buy some real milk from a farmer for that one….I used coconut mild with my hot chocolate…over Christmas maybe I will add some cream butter and rum!!!
YELLOW TRUCK IN BUTTE
I always like to get away from the tourist sections of towns…I love the nitty gritty of life. It seems to me that one could do this with the spiritual life…there is a duality and one we view as good the other as bad but there is always the talk of this “middle” path where one doesn’t over react or judge what is before them. But I see the nittygritty the urban decay as beautiful and stunning…and that was not always the case.
I wonder if God sees the nitty gritty of the human heart as a beautiful creation…all to often we condemn the politicians…the criminals…those who offend us so greatly. Of course certain behaviors and offenses should carry a consequence either natural or imposed but along with forgiveness and recognition for each person no matter how unrecognizable it is to us
All too often this is mostly what we we recognize as beauty..
ELK TRACK
Unfortunately when I took this photo it didn’t capture my foot which I had placed beside it! It was almost as big as my big size 9 foot!….I had no idea this is the first time I had seen an elk track!!
FINALLY STARTING MY CHRISTMAS CARDS!!!
This was a post from last year….my cards were quite late last year! It takes a long time to paint the envelopes I am hoping that even with my late start this year that I will get them out in time but the blog may suffer a bit…We’ll see…I have a whole bunch of projects going on at once….To further my panic I received my first Christmas card yesterday…one of my friends is going to the Amazon for a month so she sent her cards early! Wow I hope she takes lots of photos!!
From last year…
Every year I paint the envelopes of the cards I send out. Someone suggested I start signing and numbering them, but then I would have to make sure that they were perfect. I got lazy and used a Sharpie for the address because it was so much faster. I will never do that again. It takes away from the artwork. With my family emergency this year I am trying to beat myself up too much….but that is how my brain works. My Christmas cards are a sort of meditation or prayer to God. I abandoned any formal religious themes this year because religion is the cause of so much pain and hurt on this planet.

PHOTO I TOOK IN THE REDWOODS

THE ENVELOPE
As simple as they may look it takes several layers of paint to get good coverage. I’m getting to where I need to start them in October to make sure they get to people by December 25th! I thank my Uncle Vic for writing that he doesn’t care how late they are they are worth waiting for! I have a distant relative that is pissed off at me because she didn’t get her card from me before Christmas!
Everyone should go on a hike every week instead of going to church. Unplug your televisions! See what you are missing in your state I guarantee that just about every city has trails you can hike within 60 miles. We get lazy and ignore our surroundings….we ignore the things that are important and instead go to the mall or a movie….TV…
Here is a picture of me teaching my nephew Frankie how to be a tree hugger!

DECONSTRUCTION IN BUTTE, MONTANA
This sort of resembles me….my mindset in life….things that were built are being removed…the roof has come off the panes of glass long gone…but the walls still intact and the last to go…
The blog is going through many changes and most of the Native American issues will have a new home. This blog will house my art and more of my personal issues. This is a difficult time right now…my family has many issues that take precedence in life and my apologies for not posting regularly…it has been all I can do to get pictures up! Never mind scanning the new photos. I have had a nightmare dealing with HP in the last few months and have finally quit using it altogether. HP was causing many problems with my Vista and startup repair was necessary almost every morning. Now I am using Picasa which for the last three days has been a dream!!! And FAST!!! Being so traumatized by HP I am reluctant to start over organizing ….waiting for crashes….I have over a thousand photos on my computer….or I used to I recently did a great purging of bad photos…no reason at this point and as I get better and better I will be compelled to delete those that do not have personal meaning to me!
December is going to be a tough month to organize things the way I want them and I may have to resort to recycling some older posts as I did when I was on vacation!
I hope all of my readers had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that your holidays are BLESSED and filled with JOY and PEACE!!!
Falling away

HISTORICAL SOCIETY IN HELENA MONTANA
Most of the drawings and paintings are Charles Russel but not the cartoons…some of these may have already been up I always think I will remember every single photo I have put up!!
branding irons
There is a book of Russel’s letters out now…puts email to shame..and reminds me I had better get my rear in gear with my Christmas cards!
YONTOCKET AND THE COAST
These were on a roll that was only half used and then taken to Montana…I thought I would break up the Montana posts tonight!
MONTANA LAND AND SKY SCAPES
There will be no end to the Montana photographs…actually they will run out in maybe two weeks…no celebrating!!! Wait til I move there!!!
BERKELEY PIT COPPER MINE
In Butte, Montana there is a copper mine…literally in the city the town was built on the West side of it. At one time Butte was the most prosperous small towns in the United States. In 1982 the copper mine shut down and at that time Anaconda Mining Company also shut down the pumps that dewatered the mine and thus 1,800 gallons of water per minute…2.55 million gallons of ground water flow into the pit each day! Please read more it is quite interesting and there are photos of what the pit looked like before it started filling with water…it is part of the Federal Superfund for environmental cleanup.
You can pay 2 dollars to see the pit… which I did…I hope it goes to the clean up!!! Out side the pit the have recently added this garden
From Wikipedia:
For more than a century, the Anaconda Copper Mining company mined ore from Butte and smelted it in Butte (prior to c. 1920) and in nearby Anaconda. During this time, the Anaconda smelter released up to 40 short tons (36 t) per day of arsenic, 1,700 short tons (1,542 t) per day of sulfur, and great quantities of lead and other heavy metals into the air (MacMillan). In Butte, mine tailings were dumped directly into Silver Bow Creek, creating a 150 miles (241 km) plume of pollution extending down the valley to Milltown Dam on the Clark Fork River just upstream of Missoula. Air and water borne pollution poisoned livestock and agricultural soils throughout the Deer Lodge Valley. Modern environmental clean-up efforts continue to this day.
My favorite photos were these with the barbed wire….I guess that people not wanting to pay the two dollars to see the pit would crawl down the slope?? or maybe for insurance purposes?? anyway it is the barbed wire around the tunnel.
CHURCH IN HELENA, MONTANA
I could have easily spent a few hours photographing this church…so many details…
Saints greet? curse? condemn? bless? pray? at the main entrance
Something I didn’t notice while I was there but all of these little angels have different expressions..
I never went inside for fear it would fall down!!
STILL ON WENDY’S RANCH….
I liked how the light and dark were contrasted in this photo with the antiques backlit…

I think I promised not to post this photo of Wendy in her pajamas but even though it is out of focus…it truly depicts the hard work of a landowner one minute you think you have a guest and can relax with a morning cup of coffee and the next moment you are feeding hay to the animals not even taking the time to get dressed…then its throw a load in the laundry get dressed and finish painting the outside of the house before winter hits…hard. She did get the house painted outside but only finished by a day or two before a hard freeze came.
I’m a REAL photographer in that way….never put down the camera to join in the work!! God forbid you injure yourself don’t expect any help from me until I’m done taking a picture of your pain!!!

Angels at the fence…no trespassing…..

Angel disguised as a daredevil!!!

I loved this empty chair on the lawn…I can quite imagine it being used by the unidentified guest.

LIZZY OBSERVES MORNINGS IN MONTANA
Of course being the fairly confirmed bachelorette I grab my camera and run outside…my friend Wendy being the true hero of the story makes coffee, gets her little angels up…makes breakfast….gets their teeth brushed….their clothes on…lunches packed….back packs and homework and library books due….has to find their shoes….I HIDE OUTSIDE!! Wendy then walks with the little angels to the top of the driveway to see them off returning to a house being remodeled and 4 loads of laundry a day!!

I did do the dishes…
