TRAIN AT GRASS LAKE

Of course while I was taking this picture a whistle began to blow

and around the corner it came! (yes i get excited when i see trains)

GRASS LAKE, CALIFORNIA III

GRASS LAKE, CALIFORNIA II

More photos from my visit to Grass Lake…the lake used to be a year round lake but now it only has water when the snow melts on the surrounding mountains….wonderful grasses grow and as the summer progresses the water evaporates and a limited amount of cows are allowed to graze…..I think the  story is that the lake disappeared after setting off explosives ( for some reason I can’t find a thing on the internet this morning) Anyway there is a place where you can see the water draining down a lava tube.

MT. SHASTA, SAGE BRUSH, KLAMATH LAKE AND A BURNED TREE IN THE DESERT

Once again I have photos from a roll of film that are odds and ends from traveling!

BURNED TREE IN THE HIGH DESERT

MOURNING THE DEATH OF MARK LINKOUS…

I only discovered SPARKLEHORSE about two years ago….I can only vaguely comprehend the sort of depression that leads to the taking of ones own life….many good thoughts for him…

ANTELOPE CREEK BRIDGE

Yet another “white” bridge!! this one located in Eagle Point….

NEAL LANE COVERED BRIDGE

There are more covered bridges in Southern Oregon than I originally thought…. and yet again this one is white….and located outside of Myrtle Creek.

The window boxes are deep set….of course my first thought having visited the bridge in Canyonville first with the chainlink fence inside was that since potential jumpers had so far to crawl across the sill that they changed their mind before committing the heinous act of self sacrifice!

One of my pet peeves!!! Of course I am not a land owner but it seems to me that all property bordering rivers and creeks should have a 20 foot public access….this is particularly bad around the Rogue River where for mile after mile there is no public access…sort of like private beaches on the ocean…ocean access should not be restricted….

of course I had to see what was under the bridge…

THE BLOSSOMS ARE FALLING ALREADY!!!

Looked like the seen out of CORALINE….one of those rare occasions I wish I could afford Photoshop!! Take those houses and truck out….funny but I didn’t even notice them until I got home…..but them I’m one of those people who can completely ignore my surrounding….for a little while anyway!

DR. DREWS NARCISSISM TEST

I listen to Howard Stern a lot and he occasionally has Dr. Drew on from Celebrity Rehab…never watched it as I only use my tv for viewing DVD’S. Anyway they always talk about this narcissism test that Robin Quivers scored the highest a celebrity has ever scored. I think out of 50 possible points she scored a 34…..

I scored 4!! I’m not sure that is good…..what is the opposite of a narcissist??

If you dare take DR. DREW’S NARCISSISM TEST

Just don’t take it TOO seriously!!

Oh and here is a good article from THE NARCISSISTIC CONTINUUM

SIGNS OF LIFE AND ANOTHER COVERED BRIDGE

See those precious little buds??? Tomorrow I have photos of the blossoming trees…I  took these photos in Canyonville.

I’m not sure why every covered bridge in this area is white. When I was growing up there was a red covered bridge…

all inside is fenced….someone must have jumped!!!

Yes I have to go under the bridge to find the graffitti!!!

Bloods suck Crips rule….now I ain’t no expert but my guess is that someone has been watching too many reality programs….or someone was passing through and found a covered bridge to crawl under and….well I think I’ll stick with the former. In this area one would be more likely to run into a white supremacist…..

this photo may come in handy one day!!

I’m not sure the name of this creek…like the bridge there is no information…usually the bridges have a plaque or something.

I love those roots!
